Lovin this. Protective symbolism is a vast uncharted and overlooked resource. I find a silver triple pentacle works with dark energy in the workplace. But I simply don't have enough knowledge to furnish something like this with the necessary embellishments.

This isn't anti-sex, it's anti-shit attitudes. Besides which, do you really see every woman... every. single. one. as a potential fuck? Honestly? Your more attractive aunts, cousins, siblings included? Because that is just creepy.

If not, hardly relevant. Note that I speak of Nice Guys doing things for attractive women, and nice guys doing things for people. People. Of any gender. Hint, hint.

Did I say wanting sex is bad? No. What is bad is expecting sex as some form of payment, without having offered any overt signals that this is what you want. And treating/thinking of the woman as a bitch if she doesn't put out. Such men want every woman to be a dirty little whore... who happens to have kept her virginity just for him. That is what separates a nice guy, from a Nice Guy.

ITT; "Nice Guy" sees a blog post that hits too close to home, and gets butthurt. A 10 month old blog post.

Two things:

Re men holding men to cultural standards of manliness more than women hold men to those standards: So what? Everyone already knows this. Anyway the same is true of women re cultural standards of femininity. If you think all this is a bad thing, the interesting and useful thing would be to propose a way out of it.

Re wanting sex from attractive women making a man not truly "nice": Every straight man wants sex from every woman he finds attractive. Every man acts on this want some of the time and refrains from acting on it the rest of the time--for example, a faithful married man acts on this want only with his wife. There is nothing not "nice" about wanting sex or about sex, and wanting sex is not coextensive with objectification of women. To the extent you think you have known men who did not want to have sex with you, the fact is either that they were not attracted to you or that they did want to have sex with you. Again, just because they wanted to doesn't mean they acted on that want. Anyway, let's leave the anti-sex puritanism to reactionary so-called Christians and discredited 1970s so-called feminists

I'd say the responsibilities are still very much expected, at least in the Southern United states. Of course, down here it seems like the women's movement never really gained much ground sometimes.

That's pretty much the list of how men are supposed to act down here, and as you can imagine, we get a lot of heavily conditioned douchebags as a result. You make a good point, though, women never make a big deal about this, which is okay if you don't particularly care about having male friends.

This has happened to me a lot. In fact it's pretty rare that I don't piss men off when I voice my opinion on a topic (especially when I seemingly know more than they do). I've had so many men flirt with me and then become angry if I don't return the advances & instead express my thoughts on politics, current events, etc.

Exactly! I mean, I write letters for a living and sometimes write copy for my employers advertising; and the amount of thought and effort and consideration that goes into EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. I can only imagine how much MORE of that there must be for really big businesses like Sony.

It's good that they pulled the ad, but let's be honest: advertising execs know what they're doing. It's their job to know how an ad will be perceived. Sony can claim ignorance all they want, but they had to have known that their ad wasn't "sensitive" to racial issues.

Ah, Sony. The copy protection on their music CDs mucked up any Windows computer you played it in, and they ended up having to compensate a lot of people.

Oh, short term weight loss is possible, but long term isn't quite so easy. The World Health Organisation defines a successful diet (ie, as in the diet plan itself, not the individual dieter) as one which allows a set amount of weight loss to be sustained for 5 years.

Under medical test conditions, between 95-98% of participants in ANY weight loss regime regained most, if not all, of their lost weight within 5 years and many actually gained overall, following successful short term losses at the start of the programme. Most of the tests done under funding by diet businesses don't even run for 5 years, and still show massive regain.

Personally, I think pretty much everyone would just be better off forgetting about the size of their pants and just living healthfully for the sake of their health.

If I walk to and from work every day, avoid the junk food, and keep grain products to a bare minimum (if not avoiding them entirely), I will lose weight.

I can so relate to that. I know where you are coming from. Losing weight isn't that hard. Just eat less and move more is the rule of thumb. In the time they had bored the pants off you, they could have walked two blocks and had the chocolate anyway. Talking won't burn calories but walking will do it every time. Keep smiling and the day you finally lose it and you decide to go in with the machine gun, just make sure they are first! Just kidding :-)

Yeah, so as far as I can tell, tanning/scouring is the only way to change your Bimbo's 'ethnicity', so to speak (although I really think that when she's over-tanned, she really just looks like a white girl who's tanned, as there's no way apart from plastic surgery to change your Bimbo's facial features). So far for me, this is one of my biggest complaints against the game. If I were a non-white kid playing this game, I think I'd be a bit gutted that I'm not really represented. I wish you could pick from the start from a variety of different Bimbos, and I also wish you could pick any number of paths to follow like to be a girly-girl or a sporty girl or a smart girl or any number of different lifestyles (like how in MMOs you can chose a race and job class).

Also, so far I've been quite pleased with how the clothing options have expanded as I've progressed through the game. I find my Bimbo dressing more and more like me now that I can buy her dark t-shirts and cargo pants.
